Ozark Pasture-Raised Beef

From our family to your freezer!

Our roots run deep in Stone County. The Five Sisters are the seventh generation to live on this land and raise cattle here.

We love having a freezer full of farm-raised beef, and we know you will, too. Choose the size share that fits your family and budget best. We offer 1/4, 1/2, or whole shares.

We make it easy for you to order. We talk to the butcher for you and will even deliver! We also make sure that no beef goes to waste. We offer recipes and ideas so each cut is utilized and enjoyed.

Our beef is humanely harvested in a local processing facility and dry-aged for at least 14 days to promote tenderness and flavor.

Our cattle are born and raised on our ranch and spend their life grazing in the fields along the White River and under the shadow of the Ozark plateaus. We know their story, from birth to harvest.

We raise our grain-finished beef without growth hormones, steroids, or antibiotics. They are given a corn ration for around 60 days with free access to grass or hay.

FAQ's

Like people, each animal weighs in at a different amount. Since we are a small family operation, our animals are not uniform. These amounts are approximate and based on previous experience.

Whole beef = 330-375 pounds

Half beef = 165-190 pounds

Quarter beef = 80-95 pounds

This will depend on several factors including (1) family size (2) how often you eat at home and (3) how often you want to have beef as your protein.

For example, a family of four will use about one pound of beef per meal. This family rarely eats out and enjoys beef at least twice a week. They would like to have enough meat to last a year. Therefore, they would want to purchase a half share.

But another family of four may eat at home less often and prefer to eat less beef. Therefore, they would only need a quarter share.

A quarter share is processed using our standard cut sheet and will include ground beef, chuck and arm roasts, stew meat, cube steaks, New York strip steaks, filet mignon, ribeyes, and sirloin steaks.

Half and whole shares are fully customizable and can be processed in various ways. In addition to the cuts in the quarter share, half and whole shares can also choose to include brisket, skirt and flank steaks (great for fajitas), and short ribs. There are also more roast options if you are a huge fan. Of course, you do not have to include any of these cuts in your order! It’s up to you; we will help you make these decisions.

Oxtail, liver, tongue, and soup bones can also be added to any share.

Our pricing structure is based on carcass weight or hanging weight. It is the most accurate way of pricing since the processor takes this weight before breaking the animal into individual cuts. The hanging weight is NOT the amount of meat you will take home (sometimes called the boxed weight). That will be less than the hanging weight. Our current price is $4.25/lb hanging weight.
The weight of each animal can vary widely, so the prices below are an estimate (on the high end). The processor also charges a processing fee that we have included in the total below:

Whole: $2800

Half: $1400

Quarter: $725

Our meat is vacuum sealed which keeps it fresh for a long time (about 14-16 months) and safe from freezer burn. You will need a deep freezer to hold all this beautiful beef, though!

Whole beef = large chest freezer

Half beef = 7.5 cubic foot chest freezer

Quarter beef = small cube chest freezer or a completely empty fridge/freezer combo

Mountain View Butcher Shop will be processing the animal. Delivery is available to surrounding counties for a $50 fee.

Only if you want to! We do all the work for you. If you prefer to talk to him (he won’t bite-we promise), we will send you a cut sheet to help you prepare for the conversation.

We deliver to all surrounding counties including the cities of Batesville, Heber Springs, Leslie, Clinton, Mountain Home, and Melbourne for a small fee.

Fall Farm Tour

Fall on the farm means the end of haying. The last cutting of hay is done and the final bales of hay are stored away. It’s also weaning time for our calves. We practice fence-line weaning to reduce the stress on both mamas and babies. It’s also the time of year that we harvest our beef for the year. Bonfires, football on the radio/tv, wildflower walks, and waiting for the peak in fall foliage keep us busy when we aren’t out with the animals.

Enjoy our virtual farm tour.
